Are you dreaming about being an artist? But you don’t know how to start and need some valuable tips and insight into the music industry? Or are you just interested in new styles of music and exceptionally talented artists?

This blogs deals, among other things, with the question how artists can promote themselves and their work with the help of social media.

Social media is nowadays an essential tool for artists, because it has never been easier to reach their audience and share your creations. The use of social media has increased enormously throughout the last decade, especially within the generation y and z. This fact and other disruptive technologies, like streaming websites, have led to major changes in the music industry. An artist can really benefit from that, and this blog will provide some advice to do so.

We, that means, the authors of this blog, are seven students from the university of Mainz. In our class “The Fabric of Dreams”, we were assigned to write a blog about a subject, that we really enjoy. For us it was clear, that it has to be related to music. We come from different countries, so you will also find some stimulating connections to the author’s home country.
